Mercer completes ACF Official Partner line up
The Association of Charitable Foundations (ACF) has announced Mercer as its fourth and final Official Partner.
Mercer will join the Official Partner Programme, which is aimed at enhancing the way ACF works with commercial organisations. In doing so Mercer will commit to playing a significant role in sharing its expertise and experience with both ACF members and the wider foundation community.
Mercer will enter into a four year arrangement alongside ACF’s existing partners, Cazenove Charities, CCLA and Ruffer LLP, all of whom are demonstrating significant ongoing dedication to the sector.
Through the Programme, ACF hopes to draw on Mercer’s wealth of knowledge in investment consultancy, governance and advice, and bring this to bear across ACF’s events, training, information and research outputs.
The involvement of Mercer, one of the world’s leading professional services firms, will complement ACF’s existing Partners and enable foundations to benefit from a broad and knowledge-led approach from organisations with an established reputation for sectoral engagement and a robust attitude towards issues of ESG.
The move concludes the launch of ACF’s Official Partner Programme, which is strictly limited to four organisations, and coincides with ACF’s strategic plan and recent staffing restructure, both of which are aimed at delivering on the changes requested by members – namely to become a more powerful voice in advocating for foundations while continuing to develop services.
ACF chief executive Carol Mack said:
“We are immensely pleased to announce Mercer as our fourth and final Official Partner, completing a programme that is significant in allowing ACF to more powerfully deliver in its mission to support foundations to be ambitious and effective in the way that they use their resources for social good.
Mercer will bring a lot to the table for our members, not least via the scale and variety of its work in the investment consultancy space.
I am certain that Mercer’s involvement will add to our member offer, without ever compromising our role in providing a protected environment for high-value peer exchange and learning.
In joining the Programme, Mercer is signalling its long-term stake in the effectiveness and health of the sector and I look forward to working with them, alongside our existing members, in the coming months and years.”
Mercer’s UK Head of Investment Solutions - Charities, Endowments & Foundations Paul Fleming said:
“Mercer is a natural fit for an official partnership with ACF as many of our investment and advisory clients are existing members of the association. Our ongoing support focusses on strengthening performance, capital preservation, income generation, cost management and offers market leading Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) investment advice. With over 40 years’ experience in delivering investment solutions for charities we allow them to focus on making the world a better place.”
