ACF responds to Tax Commission

ACF has submitted its response to the Charity Tax Commission’s call for evidence.

The Commission, established by NCVO and chaired by former chair of the Inland Revenue Sir Nicholas Montagu, is conducting an independent review of charity taxation.

In our response, we assert that charity tax relief is a cornerstone of a pluralist society, that relief should not be decoupled from charity status, and that foundations use charity tax relief to maximise their giving. ACF Chief Executive Carol Mack sits on the reference group to the Commission, and ACF has offered to facilitate further engagement with commissioners as their work continues.

Our full response can be found here and you can contact if you would like more information.
