ACF conference programme announced – bookings now live

We’re really pleased to reveal the full ACF conference programme and to open up bookings for the event on 25 and 26 November.

Stronger Foundations: Reflect. Recover. Renew.

In an unprecedented year, the ACF Virtual Annual Conference 2020 is a unique opportunity to gather as a sector and take stock. We’ll explore what impacts the Covid-19 crisis has had on us all, what’s been learnt in the first nine months of the pandemic and what our future considerations need to be.

The programme features a wealth of high-quality, thought provoking key addresses, plenary presentations, panel discussions and Q&A sessions. It will be delivered by a diverse and prominent group of speakers and panellists.

Day 1 (25 November) is a chance to stop and reflect on how foundations and civil society have responded since the pandemic struck. It will look at the strategies and actions members are taking forward, including into the future recovery from the pandemic. Attendees will get the chance to hear evidence and ideas and to draw lessons about what is working well and what needs to change in individual foundations, the foundation sector as a whole, and wider civil society. The day includes a keynote speech from Wellcome Chair Dame Eliza Manningham Buller as well as the state of the sector speech from ACF Chief Executive Carol Mack.

Day 2 (26 November) will challenge attendees to think more widely about what the changes to the economy and society mean for civil society, and how foundations can adapt and evolve to stay ahead of the challenges and maximise the impact they make in the future. It features keynote speeches from Minister for Civil Society Diana Barran, MPs Danny Kruger and Rushanara Ali and reflections from Dawn Austwick on lessons from her seven years in charge at the National Lottery Community Fund. The day also includes the launch of new resources from ACF as part of the Stronger Foundations programme to support foundations to pursue and achieve stronger practice.

There will also be workshops, webinars and social events, with support from our Official Partners CCLA, Cazenove, Mercer and Ruffer.

You can register for the conference here and take advantage of early bird bookings till 13 November.
