BDCF is a charitable foundation established to work for the benefit of Bradford district, which until recently has been dormant, managed by Leeds Community Foundation (LCF) since 2014. The Foundation’s board has decided to make the charity active again after it was left a legacy gift for the benefit of communities across Bradford. The board now wishes to strengthen its membership to support this new phase of BDCF and to keep it aligned with GiveBradford.

The new trustees will be responsible for leading the organisation’s governance and determining what should be achieved with the legacy funds. They will also advise LCF on the future development of the GiveBradford brand, under which the two organisations will work together to ensure that all philanthropic resources going into the district have the most impact in tackling inequality.

The communities we serve are very diverse and we aim for our trustees to reflect those communities, so welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and experiences.

The board of BDCF is committed to a close continuing partnership between BDCF and LCF, which will ensure communities in Bradford and Keighley make decisions that are rooted in local knowledge and expertise, while continuing to benefit from LCF’s long-established, strong reputation as an independent grant-maker for the region, which has been crucial to securing so much of the philanthropic investment the district has enjoyed in the last five years.
