Trustee

KPMG Foundation

Location London

Position Full time

Salary Unremunerated

Application deadline 19 April 2021

Since its creation in 2000, the KPMG Foundation has worked to support children and young people from more disadvantaged communities, to help improve literacy and numeracy skills and promote social justice.

The charity achieves its mission primarily through grant making and plans to invest up to £5m over the next three years, in partners who aspire to leave no child behind. Its focus is on improving the lives of the most vulnerable children and young people, including those in care or on the edge of care, in England, Scotland and Wales.

Supporting strategic initiatives, sometimes at an early stage, with potential for wider influence and impact, KPMG Foundation is a pro-active grant maker, seeking out organisations who share its ambitions and can build evidence, share learning and work alongside others, including with children, families and young people themselves.

Trustees

Unremunerated

The board now seek up to two Trustees who will have some of the following;

  • a background of working with and for children and young people, particularly in a family or community context
  • experience in children's social care sector, possibly through commissioning
  • a solid understanding of inequality in the UK - as it affects children and young people - and the policy environment that informs it

The Foundation is particularly keen to bring greater diversity of knowledge, experience and skills to its board and welcome applications from Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic (BAME) candidates, and from different socio-economic, age and educational backgrounds.
