The Grants Officer will be an integral part of a small team to provide a comprehensive administrative support service to the Director, Trustees and members of the Wates Families. You will also take the lead on two areas of grant giving in the portfolio, and will be involved in all aspects of the grant life cycle within those areas of responsibility; handling initial enquires, visiting charities, processing applications, supporting the decision-making process and monitoring the results.

We are looking for you to already be working or volunteering in the third sector, and be familiar with the requirements of grants administration, including a good awareness of charity finance, and have a good attention to detail.

Alongside this empathy and excellent spoken and written communication skills are key to ensuring that we can support applications through to their conclusion to the satisfaction of all parties.  

This flexible opportunity is based out of our well-equipped Head Office in Leatherhead, is 30 hours per week, and can either be worked over four or five days (days and hours to be agreed). There will be occasional travel for meetings with charities and family members.
