Administration and Finance Assistant
About The RS Macdonald Charitable Trust:
The RS Macdonald Charitable Trust is a progressive grantmaker, supporting charities and individuals from the outset (pre-application) until the final grant report is received. A strategic priority of the Trust is to build stronger relationships with charities seeking our funding. The Trust distributes our funding thematically, providing grants to support child welfare, visual impairment, neurological conditions, animal welfare and the RNLI.
The Administration and Finance Assistant :
- Takes responsibility for the day-to-day operations of our office, including housekeeping and the hosting of our meetings and events
- Provides administrative support for the governance of the Trust: Trustee meeting papers, Director’s administration etc
- Undertakes financial administration for the payment of grants including setting up payments (NOTE this does not require any book-keeping or accountancy which is undertaken outwith this role)
Working as part of a small but busy team at our office in central Edinburgh, the post holder will report to the Director and provide support to the rest of the team, Trustees and other volunteers.
We are looking for a well organised, adaptable and motivated administrator to ensure our grant-making is effective and meaningful. We promote a welcoming environment that is positive and supporting to the charities who seek our support.
We are keen to hear from those with excellent interpersonal, communication and IT skills who can work proficiently and with attention to detail. Previous experience of working with a charity is desirable.
