ACF Virtual Annual Conference 2020: Workshop, Intentional Investing 2020

It has been five years since the original ‘intentional investing’ research was published, considering how foundations can align their mission and their investments. The session looked at new research examining the current responsible investment practice in UK foundations. Intentional Investing 2020 shows that 77% of charity investors now have a responsible investment policy and highlights a huge increase in climate change and fossil fuel divestment policies across the sector.

Kate Rogers, Head of Sustainability
A Kate specialises in investment on behalf of charities, endowments and foundations and has over 20 years of experience, with 15 years at Schroders and Cazenove. She is a CFA charterholder and has a BSc (Hons) in Natural Sciences from the University of Durham. She won a Women in Investment Award for her work with the Charity Commission and FCA creating a new charity investment vehicle. Email Kate.

 

 

James Brennan, Portfolio Director
James joined from Cazenove in 2019 as Portfolio Director in the Charity team. James has worked with charities for 24 years, is a regular speaker at charity conferences and has written numerous articles for the charity press. James is an ex-officio adviser to a UK charity, where he was formerly a trustee and chair of the Finance Committee, and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment. Tom Montagu-Pollock, Portfolio Director
Tom specialises in investment on behalf of charities, endowments and foundations and has over 15 years of experience at Schroders and Cazenove. Tom began his investment career in 2005 after graduating from Newcastle University with a BA (Hons) in Business Management. Tom is a chartered member (FCSI) of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment and has completed the London Business School Foundation and Endowment Asset Management Course. He is also a Trustee and member of the Investment Sub-Committee of the Natasha Allergy Research Foundation.
Alongside his Co-Head role, Tom is the lead manager of our two flagship Multi-Asset Charity Authorised Investment Funds, the Charity Multi-Asset Fund and Responsible Multi-Asset Fund. Tom has been involved in the launch and management of both Funds since their inception in 2007 and 2018 respectively.
