Job Description
BBC Children in Need are looking for a Impact Senior Manager for a permanent contract based in London or any other suitable location in our southern region. Working into the new Head of UK Portfolio, the primary purpose of this role is to provide senior leadership across the Children in Need North grant-making teams, leading and optimising all of BBC Children in Need’s grant-making and management within this geographic patch. The role will ensure we are driving our charitable ambition of having the greatest impact for children and young people across the UK by strengthening our place-based and localised response which is critically important to us and something which we all believe make us more effective. Main Responsibilities The key responsibilities of the Impact Senior Manager will be To provide strategic oversight and support to teams across the Southern patch, coordinating activity and supporting staff, Committees, Assessors, the children and young people’s sector and the BBC. To help ensure cohesion, shared and embedded learning at local, regional, national and UK levels To work with senior colleagues in ensuring continuous improvement and development in grant making and grant management policy and practice. To contribute to delivering simple, safe and effective solutions in the design and delivery of grant-making and management functions, with a focus on continuous improvement, consistency, flexibility (e.g. to respond to the needs of different geographical areas across the UK) and embedded learning Are you the right candidate? The Impact Senior Manager will have Proven ability to work at strategic level Excellent knowledge of the voluntary and community sector and/or the children and young people field Outstanding communication, presentational and team working skills Experience of communicating to a high standard with a wide range of stakeholders Strong experience and excellent understanding of grant-making at an operational and strategic level Experience of working within the UK-wide or geographically dispersed context
