Violence against women and girls network meeting

Join us to discuss Abusers: Tackling the Cause of the Problem

There is more talk these days about challenging perpetrators to stop abusing, or holding abusers to account, but what does this mean in practice? We know that tackling the cause of the problem is fundamental to ending violence against women and girls but how do we do this in ways that keep survivors safe?

We will be welcoming Jo Todd CBE, Respect CEO and Sara Kirkpatrick, Intimate partner violence specialist and current CEO at Welsh Women’s Aid. They will talk us through how they see working with abusers and how we can manage the risk if abusers don’t want to stop, or while they change their behaviour.

They can share what works, what a “whole system approach” means to them and the role of independent specialist services for survivors. Respect leads and supports the domestic abuse perpetrator sector with a focus on innovation, practice expertise and influencing systems change. Welsh Women’s Aid is the national charity in Wales working to end violence against women and girls in all its forms.
