What We Do - Association of Charitable Foundations

ACF is the only membership body representing all trusts and foundations in the UK.  We work by:

  • Supporting the work of charitable trusts and foundations
  • Representing the interests of our members
  • Promoting good practice in grant-making and the effective working of trusts and foundations

Our Values and Approach

ACF provides help and support for the distinctive role of trusts and foundations, while respecting – and indeed protecting – their independence.

Although our members are very diverse, there are many areas of common ground, and through our services to members we provide a framework in which trusts and foundations can learn from each other’s experience and explore matters of shared concern.

We have a strong track record of representing the common interests of grant-makers to government, to the regulators, to the media and to other stakeholders, on issues that affect all independent trusts and foundations.

Please use the links on the left-hand side of this page to find out more about our work.

If you are a grant-making trust or foundation and would like to find out further details about what the services we offer to our members, please visit the benefits of joining ACF section.
