Charity Governance Code launched
A good practice guide for governance in the charity sector has been launched. Charity Governance Code, supported by ACF members the Clothworkers’ Company and Barrow Cadbury Trust, sets out principles and recommended practice in seven areas:
- Organisational purpose
- Decision making, risk and control
- Board effectiveness
- Openness and accountability.
Recommendations are adapted for both smaller and larger charities, and serve as a useful reference point for foundations strengthening their own governance and considering the governance of those they fund.
