2014 Professional Development Programme
ACF's Professional Development Programme has a focus on foundation strategy and grant-making practice and will benefit all those who have a role to play in the grant-making process. To explore the different pathways to continuing professional development for grant-makers, we have classified the seminars in two (sometimes overlapping) categories:
- Pathway one: Foundation strategy and leadership
- Pathway two: Grant-making theory and practice
Some sessions, such as Reading applicants’ accounts and Grant-making and the law, have a focus on learning from external experts. Others will enable participants to explore and discuss specific themes with peers. Many are designed and delivered by practitioners working in the field, offering an insight not available elsewhere. Because the craft of grant-making is not a precise science, all of the seminars are intended to provide a space for reflection and sharing with those facing similar practice issues.

Events Terms and Conditions: Spaces on many of our seminars are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment. Conversely if there are insufficient numbers a month before an event is due to run, we may have to cancel and we cannot then re-instate the event even if later bookings arrive. Details for each event are correct at the time of going to print. However sometimes we have to make changes to the published programme and we will do this by publicising the changes on this website.
The price of each event includes the cost of lunch and /or other light refreshments.
Events Refund Policy: Full refunds will be given for cancellations received a week or more before the event. For cancellations received within a week of the event, no refunds will be made. Full refunds of seminar fees will be given if ACF has to cancel the event due to insufficient numbers or other reasons, but we regret we cannot be responsible for any additional expenditure incurred.
