Head of Policy
Are you interested the voluntary sector policy environment and the funding ecology? Do you want to use your expertise to drive and support social good? Do you have experience of influencing policy in the voluntary sector?
The Head of Policy will be an outstanding communicator and influencer with a professional and friendly approach. They will take the initiative in developing ACF’s policy influence and reach. They will be keen to engage with ACF members and understand their expertise and ideas. They will be confident but diplomatic when engaging with senior external stakeholders, including parliamentarians and the media. It is likely that they will have experience of changing policy for the better within the context of the voluntary sector. Line management experience is preferred but training will be provided.
The Role: This key role is critical to the success of ACF’s new strategy, which sets out our ambition to play a greater role in championing and representing foundations’ policy interests.
The purpose of the Head of Policy role is to lead ACF’s work:
- championing and helping maximise the impact of charitable foundations, through identifying and sharing best practice, and
- asserting the interests of charitable foundations and positively shaping their operating environment, by engaging with wider civil society, government, regulators and the media.
The Association of Charitable Foundations (ACF) is the membership body for UK foundations and grant-making charities. Driven by a belief that foundations are a vital source for social good, our mission is to support them to be ambitious and effective in the way that they use their resources. We do this through the provision of policy and advocacy, research and information, and a wide-ranging programme of events and learning. Our 330 members collectively hold assets of around £50bn and give over £2.5bn annually.
